Attention Gardeners- Your lettuce is ready to be harvested.
Garden lettuce has smaller leafs than what you get in the grocery. If it continues to grow it will become bitter.
Note: if you harvest only the lower leafs and let the smaller ones grow you can continue to harvest for several weeks or until the lettuce bolts. Bolting means putting on seed heads when you see it you will understand, at that time you pull the plant and use what you can. You may also replant lettuce seeds every two weeks to ensure a continuous crop.
