I have added a link for an old time article written for Aggie Horticulture in 1936...How to grow tomatoes and how to prepare them for the table. It is a fun read, so check it out in links. Connie-your garden blogger.
Hi everyone, I added a recipe for Swiss Chard to the recipe page, check it out, you might just like it.
Connie, your blogger... Please make every effort to attend as we need to take pictures. Bring the entire family if possible. We would like to see everyone pictured with their garden wearing green for St. Patrick’s Day. Since we are a 501c3 and have to depend on donations to continue building and maintaining the garden these pictures will make the strongest statement.
ACCG Directors Judy Sanders, President Serapio Garza, Jr., Vice-President Vicky Rice, Treasurer Mary Taylor, Secretary Richard Snyder, Director Gardeners, the gardens look great. We had a good turn out for the Mulching Party. If you did not get over to mulch your garden please remember not to cover your newly seeded area. Wait till your plants are up and then mulch. Mulching is a must in order to conserve water and help your plants roots keep moist even in dryer weather. We have had a very low humidity the last few days, if you have transplanted or seeded please remember to give them an extra drink of water till they are established. If anyone has questions or needs assistance please ask one of the directors for assistance, we are here to assist you, if we do not know the answer we find someone that can.
ACCG Directors Judy Sanders, President Serapio Garza, Jr., Vice-President Vicky Rice, Treasurer Mary Taylor, Secretary Richard Snyder, Director March 3rd, 2pm, please plan on being at the garden to mulch your beds, this a dusty process but it is a must to conserve water and help our plants grow. Please bring a small scoop and bucket to carry the mulch to your beds.
